Redesigning circulating coinage continues our proud tradition of honoring the Nation's anniversaries with special coins and medals to mark the occasions.

For example, to celebrate the Nation's 200th anniversary, the U.S. Mint issued Bicentennial quarters, half dollars, and dollar coins with new reverse designs. In addition, the Mint produced a National Medal, American Revolution Bicentennial Administration (ARBA) medals, military medals, and a series commemorating "America's First Medals."
